When others recognize your work!

One of my most impactful love languages is words of affirmation. I don't do the work for that to be a result, but when it is, it feels very nice. Warm, like a great embrace. In doing the work, sacrificing the time, energy, finances to build this vision into a restaurant, we were recognized by The Texas Restaurant Association! It was a complete surprise when they inquired to do an interview on Black restaurant owners in Texas. My first reaction "Who me?"... "Is this spam??" lol 

What's interesting is that sometimes our response to good things is to question it's validity. I wonder how many of us have missed being present in the recognition, because we are not use to it, it's unexpected or, for many, they may feel they simply don't deserve it. 

So the next time someone affirms that hard work you are doing on anything, your mental, your relationships or for you just being freaking amazing. Sit in that recognition. You deserve it!
